Hey,

Made the first video of our stacking collection last night and thought you guys might be interested to have a look.

http://youtu.be/RCzrpzOLF_8

Let us know your thoughts and any advice/tips on what we should be stacking next!

Feels like we're joining the silver game a little late in comparison to a lot of you, but we're doing our best to catch up!!

Parkster

Why are you switching to mainly bars?

Hi, We're trying to get a mix of everything to be honest. When we first started buying silver, we were worried about the flexibility of coins, and thought future buyers may be more interested in bars. Now that we've done more research (we're still learning new things every single day!) we know about the potential premium for numismatics and as such have been adding to our coin collection. Have got 30 1/2oz dragons, 10 Brittanias and two 10oz dragons on their way to us, and are levelling these out with a couple of 100g Metalor bars. We're not planning on getting anymore 1kg bars.

Do you think we should just stick to coins going forward?? Any advice is appreciated!

Mix it up like you have been. Just look for good deals and grab em. Make sure you shop around.

Awesome collection! Even after 6 weeks did you say of stacking you have more silver than 99.9% of your countrymen. I would recommend government minted coins over rounds and bars as they will be more liquid especially as the price rises and counterfeiting becomes more of an issue.

In case you haven't seen his videos there is a silver YouTuber from the UK by the name of GuildF40. I think he probably has more than a few subs from the UK.

Thanks for the feedback! Can you just confirm for us (this is probably a really stupid question! Blush) but what is the difference between gov minted coins and rounds? Are coins from the Perth mint etc government minted?

Will have a look for Guildf40...always on the look out for new youtubers to follow!

RE: Late comer but start of our stacking video - Mojofabulous - 04-18-2012 06:29 PM

currency face value. Don't ask me why that's important since no one who knows what they're doing would ever trade it in for face value....but it is.

My understanding is that Perth Mint is not officially an Australian government mint but it it is basically controlled and affiliated with the government. again, my understanding - Government minted coins have more beautiful, ornate designs that are much more difficult to counterfeit. It is also more risk involved for the counterfeiters because there are usually stiffer penalties for counterfeiting government issued coins. For instance, in the US the Secret Service would be involved in investigating counterfeit Eagles. The Perth mint coins are my absolute favorites above any other bullion coin. They are beautiful and they would be more difficult to counterfeit than a round.

Yeah, guildF40 is great. Smile John has a list of some other YouTube "silver gurus" on his YouTube channel. Cheers!

Thanks for the great advice AG!! Really glad we've found a site like this finding helpfull people such as yourself. It can feel lonely stacking our silver, and not being able to talk to others as they wont understand etc. Think this forum will keep us sane, while we ride this silver to the moon!! Big Grin

RE: Late comer but start of our stacking video - agsilverbear - 04-18-2012 07:20 PM

Welcome to the forum! That's why we started it.

We don't talk to many people in our "real lives" about silver because if things get bad, and/or the silver price goes to the Moon someone might remember that we have some and think about taking it away from us.

Very nice collection there, nice one.

RE: Late comer but start of our stacking video - Cointreau - 04-23-2012 08:32 PM

Nice collection there Parkster.
I have Britannias mostly, also some kookies and maples.
I prefer the Brits to be honest, but I would like a couple of Moose coins.
I have started collecting world banknotes as well, but the silver collecting has a more serious side to it.
The thing is though, being from the UK you are paying through the nose for that silver. Which is why later on today I should be buying about three grand worth of silver through Goldmoney, and have it stored in Switzerland.
And I will be paying only £20 per ounze! Whoopee do!
Yes, you are quite right, us Uk silver stackers are way ahead of the curve. Far too much normalcy bias going on here!
Guys, we're at 100% sovereign debt to GDP, our bank's liabilities are about 2.5 times our GDP minimum. Spain is about to crash. Greece is about to explode. Germany isn't going to dish out much more of her money.
Like, wake up people!
Where do you get your silver from anyway?
ATS Bullion are quite expensive.

Very nice stack, you have a lot of diversity already. I love the 67 goose it is 80% but one of my favourites. I would get some of the Canadian wildlife coins but I'm also a fan of Britiannias. Your doing great!

Thanks Cointreua!

Yes i agree we do get screwed for 20% but ive found a dealer called atkinsons that i cant find anyone else to match in price. And i did thing about the buy in another country and store, but i want this stuff in my hands, i know its mine, if i hold it with another company, i personally would regret it. ATS bullion stand for atkinsons? Who do you use?

Thanks Big Grin Only wish we started years ago! Trying to make up for lost time now. The goose was given to us by a family member. We like the canadiain wolves, think we might need to pay a little extra for them!

Will update with another video in the next couple weeks.

RE: Late comer but start of our stacking video - Cointreau - 04-25-2012 05:55 PM

Parkster, I've not heard of Atkinsons. ATS Bullion is just outside the Savoy in London, but they are way expensive.
You like your phyzz so in future you may want to source your silver from Coinsinvest in Germany, as they only charge 7% VAT over there.
I advocate having some silver in your own possession and the rest stored in a secure vault. I chose to have my silver stored in Switzerland.
And you only pay VAT if you bring it back to Britain.

RE: Late comer but start of our stacking video - Cointreau - 04-25-2012 06:08 PM

Parkster, I've just had a look at Atkinsons and their prices are very reasonable indeed. Carry on as you are. I might well get some coins from there as they have a really good selection. Cheers!

No worrys! There the best i can find, they update their prices throughout the day, and very easy to deal with. Yes i do buy the coins with 20% added TAX but i get them cheaper then i would of ebay. Nice thought knowing the 20% doesnt really matter to the true price you would get back on ebay.

RE: Late comer but start of our stacking video - parkster500 - 05-06-2012 12:43 PM

UPDATE!!!!!!!!

We have got £5,000 (just over $8,000) and looking to make our next silver order. We've got a shortlist in our heads, but was wondering what you guys would be buying if you had £5k to spend at the moment?

RE: The Parkster Stack - Viper_99 - 05-06-2012 02:21 PM

I would stick to coins and buy tubes of: Canadian Wildlife, Philharmonics, Maples, ASE my goal would to get as close to spot as possible. Then take $500 and buy coins that you just love but would never buy because they have too much of a premium. I wish that I could make these choices myself! Best of luck and I can't wait for you update video!

RE: The Parkster Stack - Mojofabulous - 05-06-2012 02:28 PM

If i were buying right now....i'd get mostly generic. Cheapest i could find while still having it be highly recognizable. Maybe some 10 oz bars by engelhard, etc.
