Silver Mining Shares - ramblerboy368 - 03-01-2012 11:35 AM

What silver mining shares do you guys own or other mining shares?

I have AEM, MFN, Brigus Gold, Mines Management, Gold Ore Resources, Great Panther Silver, Hellix Ventures, Abington Resources and a few penny stocks. I'm looking to buy a few others soon like Sandstorm Gold. Anyone hear of Golden Band Resources? This is a penny stock, but it already is in production and has made a profit.

Great Panther Silver, New Gold Inc, Newmont Mining Corp, Barrick Gold Corp , Global X Silver Miners (ETF), and Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold. I'm trying to diversify in metals, both precious and non-precious. I also have a few other duds I wish I never purchased, but I'm hoping for a rally in metals so I can sell and buy some energy stocks or dividend paying silver and gold mining shares.

After being burned in the stock market a couple of times through the years I have come to the con conclusion that I want nothing to do with it. Yes, You can win in it - but losing is a bigger probability I think. If the markets crash silver mining stocks will go down as well. Just my 0.02.

I feel your disenchantment. I got burned only once...and it was enough. I had everything in the Nasdaq when the Tech/Dot.com Bubble burst....even doubled down and bought everything twice on margin. I thought I knew it all...and was on the road to early retirement. It was no Medieval "bloodletting"....but more of a slaughter from the Dark Ages. It got me to wake up and find physical precious metals....so I guess that's good. Should've posted in the other thread I guess, but it is embarrassing.

I have a smallish portion of mining shares. I don't feel comfortable with the digital age and the DTCC Re-hypothecation Warehouse. Many say that people should get their shares direct...and in paper form to cover one's 6 'o' clock, but I assume many just want to do some fiat gambling. To each his/her own, but I feel a stock market crash is in the cards...post election of course...and the mining shares could be vulnerable in such a scenerio. That and the fact that the best properties have been found in the past....so now share dilution becomes a real concern...as well as the famous quote by Mark Twain.

I'm not ready for another slice of humble pie. Last go around I ate the whole pie....and my stomach is still sour to this day for embracing such folly.

I have over 300,000 shares in Jr mining companies and still buying, as well as physical and still buying that as well. I buy ONLY the Canadian Market as it has proven to be the safest market out there that I can find. I will not buy on any US stock market for obvious reasons and after the Sino Forest Resources scandal I don't trust the China market.

I only own 1 Miner and that is AuRico Gold (AUQ.TO). I love how much potential they have.

RE: Silver Mining Shares - EL34 - 06-26-2012 06:29 PM

I own about about 75K worth of 20 different junior and mid mining companies. I bought most of them at the bottom a month or so ago

Watching the market get kicked last week and this week can be discouraging, but hold tight and stay long.
