I don't get how it is profitable to manufacture fake silver bars and coins at current prices. I can understand coins with a high premium like Dragons but not maples or bars. Apparently it is happening more recently, though.

His last point is something that I've wondered about. All the major online dealers guarantee that their metals are genuine, but when they buy from customers how do they know it's 100% silver/gold? Then, that coin/bar gets sold to others from their site.

no dealer online or not wants a reputation of having fake silver, and even one or two instances could start that..

Wow Nigerian Prince, you resurrected one from the dead.
I have always wondered how well the dealers know. Sometimes they do not.
