I have, i think, officially eradicated my first troll. Ggnm came back with another account satangunsnmoney after I had banned his first account for a month. So i perma banned both accounts, pruned every post and thread he created and then banned his ip address.

The crappy part is, that jerk has officially turned me in to 'the man'.
Yeah... them grumpy old trolls! The things they make you do.Smile

You go Mojo!!

One of my favorite anti troll tactics is to set the troll's account so that only mods, admins and the troll can see their posts. To the other users all of their posts and topics are completely invisible. Sometimes they troll on and on for months oblivious as to why no one is replying to them any more. This is also a good way to give a troll enough rope to hang themselves without any actual disruption.

I lifted the IP Bans, because he uses ToR, so there is no reason to ban IP Addresses there, because it will cause grief in the end.

You serious or being sarcastic? Tone is lost on the interwebz
I thought I was the first troll Sad

Maybe I haven't just been banned yet Smile

I like the idea of giving a troll permission to post with noone but mods seeing it. That sounds funny.

It would be poetic justice to allow the troll to post so only mods and the troll could see it for all the grief trolls cause us!

Also, that trololol guy drives me nuts!!! He needs to be exterminated now!!!!Tongue
Easy for you guys to say..you wouldn't have to see their posts :-p It is a good idea though.
TOR is used by people to keep anonymous on the net. basically you log into the TOR server and they will assign an ip address. when you visit sites your real ip does not show just to TOR address. so if you ban the ip address of the troll then all he has to do is log out and log back into TOR and he has a new ip
Gotcha. Thanks

Ah, a sophisticated troll. He must've had prior experience trolling and had already figured out how to get around having his IP address banned. Some trolls! Big Grin

Onion Routing. There is a web of Secured Data Channels around the world, and when you send a request it routes the traffic around the world through these secured data channels. It will then select a random exit node for your traffic to exit through.
I guess that makes you no longer a passive overlord. Good riddance though, thanks for taking care of it.
