i just got home from a gambling and silver buying road trip visiting a half dozen shops/pawn, the cheapest peace dollars were $33 and $34 for morgans both in circulated nothing special condition all the other shops were selling them for them $38/39. provident is getting $29.50 for their culls.

just wondering if you guys are seeing the same or were these shops just overpriced. i passed on all the dollars and bought halves at 25X but now im thinking i should concentrate on dollars with the rising premi.

I would love to get some Morgans or Peace dollars, but I can't pay that kind of premium. I will just stick with the ASE.

With the recent volatility, I wonder if they just haven't adjusted their pricing? I've noticed on ebay, the morgans and peace dollars are still going in the$38/$41 range, but silver dimes, on the other hand, dropped significantly from a week ago. (At least they had two days ago.)

even the big online dealers have a $4+ premium on their worst grades, the smaller 90% stuff doesnt seem to command any premium but i have a feeling it will rise some in time. right now im able to score circulated peace/morgans for $28 or a hair under on ebay with a lot of patience.

I liked to buy merc dimes off there, but ever since the super smack from $37 to $33 bids have steadily increased from about $2.40 to over $3 a piece for run of the mill circulated. And they just won't come down. I suspect newcomers to the physical market, and won't be long until they find the real dealers....
