Where does it all go?

Hi BrotherJohnF,

I've been following you for quite some time and am stacking silver little by little every month as my personal savings. I am following the markets via Netdania's mobile app as a curiosity more than a real interest, I firmly believe that gold and silver are the only real safe-haven to keep your wealth.

What fascinates me and sparked this question are what happens to all the money/wealth when all stock markets falls together with precious metals (the paper-market). Where do all the money go? Are everybody selling off their paper-assets and putting the money on the bank as the stock-market as a whole is falling? I am looking at today when all stock-markets across the board (US, Europe, Asia) is falling. The only thing gaining is the Dollar, but not by much.

Perhaps there are an logical explanation to this, but I would very much appreciate your view on this.
