What will Ron Paul supporters do if he doesn't get the nomination?

For the first time in generations, a consistent, libertarian candidate has risen high enough in the polls to gain at least a second look by the MSM while still highly speculative at least. I will likely only support the Republican nominee only if Paul ran as a running mate, otherwise I will probably vote third party or independent. Since so many of Ron Paul supporters are so passionate about his message and completely opposed to the status quo, what will RP supporters do should he not gain enough delegates to win the nomination?

Hi Everyone, I'm writing from a Canadian perspective. Now I don't know if it's just because I'm "awake", but as your northern neighbour and friend watching your political system play out, it's so obvious Ron Paul is the only choice! He's the only one that is making any sense. The rest of them are so obviously bought and paid for. Saying the exact same thing as the other guy. Romney, Santorum... really!!?? These are the "choices"? Both with their store bought haircuts.

Ron Paul is the only real candidate. And I love the way that corporate whore media tried to ignor him there for a while... so obvious! Now their just stealing the election. I really feel for you guys! I hope and pray that the majority of the sheeple wake up soon. 4 more years of the current guy and you won't have any rights left. Don't even get me started on that guy! He is soooo fake. I can't even stand to hear that guy speak. Disgusting!

My prayers and hopes are with you, the real Americans. Your constitution is the only real legal document you need to obide by! God bless all the real people.

Do what you can man! He should run as an independant if the Republican party rejects him (Dems/Reps I think they're one and the same). Ron Paul needs to get more airtime, more support (visual - like over a million people rallying behind him) and lots of financial support. Mit Romney!? Is that even a real name!?

Didn't vote cos im UK but Ron Paul is the only one who will be prepared to try and do what needs to be done, if anything hes exactly the guy needed after it all turns to mush rather than now I just think the stable doors have been left wide open for too long to close them even for Ron. However I doubt he would be running in 4 years from now and is the sanity pill the US ( and World ) needs going forward.

I have been involved with RP's campaign on a limited basis. Got a young med student the chance to speak at a small political group. After his presentation he was asked if RP didn't get the nomination would he vote Republican. With more Supreme Court appointments coming in the future, would you want Obama to make the appointments. His reply was if RP doesn't get in then let the country crash. The sooner it happens the sooner we can start to rebuild everything. These young people mean business. A political meeting I went to last night featured a speaker who stated that other than RP the presidential election was a joke. Either bankers or something bigger was in charge of our country. They dictate what will happen with the USA. Party doesn't matter. I believe that too.

I don't know if write in count but I voted for the only one that Ron Paul endorsed and that is Chuck Baldwin. Hopefully Ron Paul runs as an Independent. Is the American Independent Party a real Party?

Thank you Chris. God willing RP will accomplish all he was sent to do. I have spoken with many people from the 2008 election to present and many feel voting for RP is throwing a vote away or a vote for Obama. I vote for what is right in my beliefs so my vote always counts. Voting for the PERCIEVED lesser of two evils is throwing your vote away. I will write him in if he doesn't win republican nom. or run third party. God is in control of all things.

Even if he was to get the most votes by a write in, we would never hear about it. The system appears to be so rigged that all this talk is inconsequential. I get the distinct feeling that a lot of Americans think we are playing a game of "checkers" when the game is really "Chess".

I think you guys who are saying you will write in Ron Paul on the ballot paper have got it wrong.

If Ron Paul is not there then turning up and voting even informally legitimises the corrupt system. The more of you stay at home and don't participate in the scam the more it makes the next president illigitimate. Imagine a presidential election with a voter turn out of less than 5%, boycott the bastards I say.

I hope of all of us Ron Paul supporters, there's someone who will become a future Ron Paul and promote the important principle of personal liberty that he stands for.

You don't need to be an American and Ron Paul doesn't need to win this election for that to happen.
