RE: What did you get for your first purchase?
A 1944 Canadian half dollar off of Ebay that, with delivery, I paid the equivalent of $47/oz when spot was around $33.
(Be gentle, I thought the world was ending right away. I know now that I got until tomorrow at least.) No pic, I still feel shame.

Maples - 6 months earlier and it would have been wolves . .

RE: What did you get for your first purchase?
Other than 90% stuff that I had forever, my first 999 fine order was in September 2010 for Westminster Mint. I ordered 5 Canadian Timberwolfs, and 5 ASE's, and they gave me a free one ounce Westminster silver bar...buy 10 ounces, get one free! Those Timberwolfs got me hooked!...the Eagles looked great also!

RE: What did you get for your first purchase?
Way back in 1999 I bought a bunch of 1oz gold American Eagles which shortly thereafter I had to sell for a downpayment on a house. I lost a bit of money too because the gold spot price went down and I wasn't happy.
After years since of hearing on the radio to buy gold, which I sorta shrugged off because I lost money on PMs the first time, I dipped my feet back into PMs very timidly. I bought two 1/4 bags of 90% silver quarters when the silver price was $18.50 oz. Then I sat back smuggly watching the price go up when I should've been investing more. Then it dawned on me that I should invest more into PMs. LOL I'm pretty slow sometimes. ![]() I guess the saying "once bitten, twice shy" applies to me in this case. |

I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend. -Thomas Jefferson To achieve Liberty and Peace two powerful Human emotions must be overcome. Number one is Envy. Number two is Intolerance. - Ron Paul I believe Banking Institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies - Thomas Jefferson People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both. - Benjamin Franklin |

RE: What did you get for your first purchase?
I started buying silver "after" I sold off my collection of pre'65 US silver coins during the "Hunt Corner" attempt. It was the collection of my youth, but those nice men were traveled around the country offering to buy those old useless coins for nice crisp paper bills. The moment he handed me the paper cash and then simply dumped my 'collection of a lifetime' into one big bag like it was garbage I knew I had made a mistake. A few years later I was working and making my own money and the first silver I bought was a 10 oz Johnson Mathey silver bar at a gun show. It cost me $50...$5.00 an ounce! I still have it. Over the years me silver stash has waxed and waned, but that one bar I never was tempted to sell..even for the good looking brunet, but that is another story.
Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. |

RE: What did you get for your first purchase?
My very first purchase was a 100 oz. Engelhard bar, (30)1 Morgan art bars, (30) 1oz. Buffalo rounds, 100 eagles and $50 in junk. I wanted to start with a broad range of products. After the initial purchase i have purchased mostly 1oz. coins.
