UK residents here's a list of sites for those people who are new to the physical silver bullion market I'm including all sites that I frequently visit and I'll let you decide which is preferred as don't want to appear biased so here goes
http://atkinsonsthejewellers.com/index.php this merchant very friendly and also good for one off deals at discount to usual margin above spot. http://www.weightoncoin.co.uk/ excellent numismatic dealer and also has specials on bulk investment parcels from time to time so keep a look out for best deals. http://www.sarniasilver.com/ I use this merchant often as its based in guernsey and they are exempt from VAT for products under £15 but be quick as of 1st of April 2012 it will no longer be exempt also good deals on bargain Seconds.Paypal accepted. http://www.silvercoinsbullion.co.uk/ also based in guernsey benefiting from VAT exemption. Prices are inclusive of delivery and VAT so it's a simple stop if you want to make single purchase..Paypal accepted. http://www.purefinebullion.com/ nice varied selection of Silver Coins and Bullion Bars, only Authorised Scottsdale Silver stockist I've found in Uk and Stocks plenty of Silver Taku's (Nice Coin) Also stocks rare earth metals which is a nice addition. PayPal accepted. http://www.highspectrading.co.uk/index.asp Good value bullion merchant also includes VAT and delivery in price but this place is good if your buying serious volumes. PayPal accepted https://autrading.co.uk/home.php includes delivery in price nice selection of coins and Bullski stocks nice cook island bars too minimum spend £150 last time I purchased. http://www.europesilverbullion.com/ these are European bullion merchant you can avoid 20% VAT and pay 7% VAT on your Coin only purchases but delivery can be pricey so make your own comparisons as to what is the best deal out there.PayPal accepted. http://www.coininvestdirect.com/ Based in Germany you can take advantage of 7% VAT with these guys too not used them yet though. The following bullion merchants I haven't used much but please check them out to see if you can find some great deals: http://www.bullionuk.com/ https://www.ukbullion.co.uk/ http://www.goldline.co.uk/ This would've been great information for me when I first started stacking so I thought I'd save you some valuable time. Please do post if you can find any great deals and new places to compare bullion prices. Praise to Brotherjohnf for the continual education. 'Keep Stacking' Kind Regards MattJ Whence come I and whither go I? That is the great unfathomable question, the same for every one of us. Science has no answer to it. Max Planck |

RE: UK Bullion Deals
Can comment on http://www.coininvestdirect.com/ used them for big purchases in silver and are top notch. You can go collect yourself or arrange for Via Mat ( bullion delivery company ) to deliver for a fee. You can as PG says save a fortune on added tax being 7% instead of 20% and a great place for monster boxes. For gold they are great too prices are better than in the UK mostly and over £2,500 delivery is free.

Used them for a while and never had anything other than a 5 STAR experience. On top of that the VAT saving makes the prices untouchable by ANY other company in the UK. Cannot recommend highly enough!!! |

I'll take the liberty If I may , of listing my (small) uk site here , http://mjbmonetarymetals.co.uk/ , the site is due a re-design soon and it's also clear I don't have a huge range to come anywhere close to the likes of both coinsinvestdirect and bullionuk who for large volume orders offer first rate service !
I accept PayPal , (credit/debit card as a PayPal guest) and although payment via bitcoin isn't accepted via the site directly yet , I can send out a bitcoin quote manually. Im based in the uk and despatch within 24 hours. ![]() Mick Bruce |

RE: UK Bullion Deals
I'm based in Huddersfield , certainly take a look , I think my pricing is fair for delivery of smaller quantities. When it comes to 20oz plus I would recommend the likes of coinsinvestdirect , I know saying that won't win me "salesman of the year" but it's kind of true nonetheless .
![]() Edit : the 20oz is based on price in that I can supply any quantity but I probably won't be able to beat the large dealers at this point on price again it probably sounds like commercial suicide to say that but I would rather be straight . |

For sure AD all silver coin prices at CID are much better than any other dealer I have found in the UK by a very long way, in fact ive been unable to find better anywhere in Europe either. Even with fully insured delivery it works out to only 9 or 10% instead of 20%. Nice to take a trip there in the summer but its no cheaper with travelling, petrol and overnight stay so wintertime better to have it delivered. The only silver items that arnt worth considering are bullion bars as they carry a 19% tax penalty so may as well buy from a UK dealer as youll save on transport or postage in the end. Another dealer I have used in the past is http://www.taxfreegold.co.uk reliable and competitive UK pricing and for gold numismatic collectors the best range by far. If I were regularly stacking small amounts of silver or just the occasional coin where small price difference isnt an issue id want to set up a relationship with a smaller dealer like Mick here.. Why ? because I believe its important to support smaller home grown business whenever possible and the benefits are many as opposed to a faceless big player. Y'see ? in the time its taken me to write this Micks added something no big player will advise you do. Thats the kind of person that you want to do business with and what the world needs more of... I'm a Bradford Lad so that is a massive Bonus !! I know a few folk who will defo be interested in a purchase if the price is right of course be nice to do business in person I'll PM you Regarding a good price for 20. Also i know for sure coininvest aint the cheapest as I'm a bit of an addict when it comes to price hunting sure they're good if your spending a big un but i've done comparisons and you'll find £25 difference between 20xPhilharmonics. Right now 20 Phili's are £590 delivered to UK from coininvestdirect £515 if you get them picked up at 7% VAT then Add £30 quid collection fee that coininvest charge = £545 then Good luck if you can get a courier to bring them to Uk for less than £50 quid so roughly £590 give or take. Now WeightonCoinWonders Based in East Yorkshire Best price at moment is £565 for same Philiharmonics £6 Special Delivery Nice family firm great to deal with and your cash goes to a small British company not to a European firm. Thats just 5mins of checking the merchants I listed above.. Like I said if your spending Thousands go to coininvest but i bet if you rang around some of these smaller firms would match them. There's alot of folk who like coininvest but don't right off the little guys and Its just my opinion but i think BullionUK sell the EXACT! same products as Coininvest so go figure that out for yourself guys?? MJB I'll be intouch Thanks.. Kind Regards MattJ Whence come I and whither go I? That is the great unfathomable question, the same for every one of us. Science has no answer to it. Max Planck |

RE: UK Bullion Deals
For a UK stacker not looking for 20oz+ a pop at a time, it also pays to look around the web and find yourself a small European dealer.
I believe there's a threshold that if they sell less than £70,000 a year to the UK then they do not have to charge VAT at 20%. Now obviously for coininvestdirect they would use that limit up within a month but these companies may not hit that in a year. I'm talking £26.70 for Phillys, £27 for Maples, ASE's and really cheap shipping - for small time stackers like me who can only dream of Monster Boxes I don't think there are better prices. I'm not going to post the link here, as they hold a REALLY small inventory but all I'll say is look at some of the overseas Ebayers with good reputation selling to the UK that are verified businesses. They all sell outside of Ebay a good £3-4 cheaper than they can on Ebay. |

But its nice to know that you've managed to discover an alternative avenue for stacking. Regards MattJ Whence come I and whither go I? RE: UK Bullion Deals
Each to their own. Depends what your buying, I'd say Goldline are expensive plus you have minimum purchase quantities, although I do like the Baird&Co Rounds and Bars and they have been knocking out bullion since the late sixties. I've studied coininvest prices and there not always the best don't get me wrong they are good but they can be beaten so i'd advise to shop around rather than jump on the coininvest band wagon.
I'm not going to start plugging sites I just want people to get the best deal theres an established coin dealer that right now can beat coininvest on the Philharmonika, Maple and Eagle. Like I say if you do your own research you can increase Oz per £. Kind Regards MattJ Whence come I and whither go I? That is the great unfathomable question, the same for every one of us. Currently they are more expensive than Eagles or most of the other generics. Id happily plug a site if they are carrying good prices here and reputable it allows us all to benefit. Personally I don't like the prices on Baird and co/goldline and the rounds are just too expensive and not pretty enough over Generic options out there. RE: UK Bullion Deals
If we buy from Uk merchants then yes we get stung with 20% there are ways to avoid it.
if you go to Coininvest and email their Customer service and get them to place your order for you and organise your own courier to deliver UK then you only pay 7% VAT. Also you can avoid VAT completely by purchasing from channel islands. If your order is under £15 then you don't have to pay VAT so you would be looking at 1/2s 1/4s 1/10ths this is being abolished on the 1st April this year so grab em while you can. We can order from anywhere to avoid VAT on a purchase but you are almost certainly going to get stung with import tax and a delivery charge for the courier having to pay your import taxes. Me personally I keep it legit and just pay the taxes. Whence come I and whither go I? That is the great unfathomable question, the same for every one of us. Science has no answer to it. Max Planck |

RE: UK Bullion Deals
If you purchase silver coinage in Europe you pay 7% VAT not 20.... now heres the trick. If you pay the 7% tax in the country you purchase in you wont have to pay the VAT again bringing it into the UK. There are rules and regulations about taking delivery and location but if you do take delivery in another EU country and pay your tax you cant be charged again after in the UK when you bring it home. I have checked this personally with HM customs & excise and regularly purchase in Europe simply to save myself 13% tax. There is nothing illegal about it the UK is an EU member and you cannot be charged VAT twice in the EU in different member countries.
