From the map above if you are in the zones shown, you can see a Dot (venus) pass in front of the sun today till sunset for us, and the European nations will see the affect at their sunrise tomorrow. You must have a telescope with filters. My neighbor had a huge telescope setup in his yard today. It was quite impressive, yup a little dot passed in front. So the reason we see it is that Venus is in the same plane as the sun from our vantage point. Some folks will even get Venus Envy from this event.
