I bought a 2011 wolf slabbed ms69 NGC for 129.00 dollars from SilverTowne.
I got it in the mail this afternoon, when I opened the package I noticed the coin had milk spots.I called them right away and explained that the coin was deffective. Their response was that these milk spots didn't effect the grading of the coin or it's value, another words I should not complain. When I said that I was thinking of returning it for another coin they said that all the other coins also had milk spots, "very fishy". Any thoughts are welcomed, thanks. |

RE: Silvertowne.com
I have some wolves with milk spots and my LCS gave me a discount on the premium just a few buck over spot. (spot was $38 bucks at the time) I would not accept the coin, I personally don't think people will agree that milk spots don't affect the premium or numismatic value. If I a buying MS 69 I expect it to be so perfect I can even understand why it is not MS 70. Would you pay top dollar for this coin if I said milk spots don't affect its value?

RE: Silvertowne.com
Hey Toby,
I have a few coins with the milk spots and if definately effects the "look" of the coin. There is no way to really get rid of the spots from what I understand. Having paid that price for the coin.. I would push the issue. The queen looks like she has acne! H |

I just don't feel right paying that much money for coin that is suppose to be almost perfect and have spots on it. |

RE: Silvertowne.com
All my maples have developed milk spots. I get no more of them. All my other coins are okay.

RE: Silvertowne.com
Just dropped off the coin at the post office to get it mailed back. Was told that they would replace the coin with a better one "less spotted", their exact words. I'm going to avoid buying any more coins from them in the future, not happy at all with their service.

RE: Silvertowne.com
yep they should have told you up front it was spotted and i am sure you would not have bought it,
they should sell those at a discounted price, if the new one they are sending you has spots they will probably keep getting worse, not sure about that though i haven't had one with spots.

RE: Silvertowne.com
I have four certified Canadian maple leaf coins and they all have small milk spots. This is why I will only buy non slabbed coins from the Canadian mint. The funny thing is that all of my non slabbed coin look great without milk spots. I have considered cracking open the slabs and removing the coins for cleaning. I think that a coin that is not slabbed and is milk spot free looks better then a slabbed coin with milk spots.

I totally agree, I would rather own five non spotted raw coins than ten spotted slabbed coins. The wolf that I returned back to Silvertowne looked absolutely horrible. I wouldn't want it for half the price. |

RE: Silvertowne.com
IMHO i wouldnt purchase anything from this place or return back for refund, I purchased a 5 OZ Fiji Taku from them and returned it due to boarder cross taxes (I never pay taxes on any bullion, live in Canada) phoned them up to let them know, lady said it was okay and I'll recieve my money back on the silver but not the shipping, when they got it back a few weeks later, nothin, mastercard never got the money back and i was told they did send it back and the problem is with my bank an not them. in the end Im out $200+ (back in early December 2011)
