He didn't promise you anything, you should take some personal responsibility and perhaps learn a little tact - as this was a horrible post at a very inappropriate time.

While I sympathize with your position I challenge what you are saying. I have followed Brother John's (BrJ) video's for well over a year now and he made no PROMISES and he most certainly never said for anyone to invest every cent they had. If you have burned into your mind that he said those things you need to go back in his video archives then you will know you are wrong. He was calling for silver to hit $100 in 2011 but he made on promises. I hope you know the difference. I think it is completely self-centered (selfish) for you to post what you have posted in this get well thread.

Let me share a story. In 2008 (never heard of BrJ) I was buying silver at $17 and $18 and many people were calling for silver to run to $50. Did it happen? NO! It dropped to $8.50. Did I blame those who were calling for silver to run to $50? NO! Why? Because I understand the market ... it appears you don't. I am sorry for that but you can't blame others.

When silver dropped to $8.50 I went and scrounged up all the extra money I could and bought more. Overall today my average is $16 and I will probably never go negative again. It took only till late 2009 for my silver to go positive. If you are smart you will hold what you have, stop complaining, stop blaming and scrounge up any extra money you can and buy more at today's prices. There is coming a time when you will experience what I did and you will never go negative.

Let me end with this .... Your post and my answer have no place in this thread so I hope someone takes us out of here and creates a thread with your post as the lead where others can voice their opinion without messing up something meant for healing.

He isn't your financial advior. You make your own ultimate decisions. We don't pretend to be Financial Advisors for anyone that watches the videos, follows the blog, or posts on the forum.

What is funny, that 20 days ago, you were singing praise for him and his advice:

Were you not able to get into a buy that he said, and now you feel bad? Did you make the dumb move of buying Silver at it's high point? Whatever your issue is it is purely personal obviously.

I can personally tell you from knowing John for almost 10 years now, I have seen him be right several times about many things financially. I know he has been buying a lot longer than most here. What he is saying when he says it will go to 100/oz is that something is going to happen to cause the true shortage to be seen, and the price will rise up to it's true value, not be held down at a lower value.

There is also a liability statement on the blog, that says we don't offer financial advice, and this is meant not to be taken as such.

No offense to John or anyone here, because I have trusted a lot of what John has told me and he has never steered me wrong, but why would you go invest everything into 1 basket, based off what some guy on the internet says? At least diversify yourself.

Hmmmm.....I'm sure you could have picked a better time to display your lack of self responsibility. You're not the only one who bought above $40. Maybe venting about your inability to see the forest because of the trees will help you. I guess we'll have to keep YOU in our prayers also.....

John was released from the hospital today and he's feeling much better. In a first step toward regaining health we bought a juicer extracter and spent a small fortune on vegetables for juicing. Thanks all for your support, it has meant a great deal to him and to me.

I was stunned when I heard about John's health issues and wish him all the best. I have learned a ton from him, and like many others I am very very grateful for what he does. I don't agree with John on everything, but anyone interested in how these markets work knows what a great resource his videos are. In fact, his work output is so high with so many videos I wonder if he has just been working too hard?? Take it easy John rest easy and GET WELL SOON DUDE!!!!!

What part of due diligence don't you understand?

I turned to my wife on November 26th of 2001 and said, "See that price for silver on the Kitco chart of $3.99? Look quick because you will never see that again during the rest of your life. That's when I got full on into silver."

What would it take to get me out of silver? Back in 2001 I got four gallons of gas for one ounce of silver. Today I get 7 and a half, nearly 8 gallons for one ounce.

Back in 1966 I got 6 gallons of gas for one ounce of silver. How's that inflation working for you? Works fine for me.

Back in 1966 I got 6 avocados for one ounce of silver in California, today I get 15 organic large avocados for the same ounce of silver shipped to Wisconsin.

Inflation, I can't get enough. Silver, the only currency on the planet worth having.

Daughter wanted to go to college in 2001. I told her there would be no job upon graduation. Fast forward to 2009, May 16, Law degree and no job to be had. Graduated with honors and $80,000 in debt.

Did I worry? Her grandmother had died in April of 2001 and left her $13,000 for her education. We cleaned that out ASAP and put it into silver. Upon graduation the silver was worth $65,000. Would we use silver to pay loans? No way! Make minimum payments and wait for silver to overcome loan problem.

In 2000 I went to my investment club meeting in June and told them that a depression far worse than the 30's was coming to the US and the world.

How did I know? Commercials took a very large short position for the first time on the S&P's.

First week in March 2001 on Wednesday, I told investment club that the market was headed down dramatically in the next few weeks. Over a trillion dollars was taken from the stock markets during the next 3 weeks. How did I know? Was I channeling Nostradamus or some prophet/seer?

No, I just did my due diligence. The commercials were net short 112,000 S&P contracts at that time.

Read the tea leaves, it ain't rocket science and leave your feelings/opinions at the door.

Study, learn, observe and understand. Fear and greed can both be overcome by belief in self and knowledge.

You are fortunate to have a family, I'd gladly give up all of my silver, even my life, to have my son back. But I do empathize with your problem of little cash and a lot of silver. I also bought silver like crazy and at all prices. So I'm downsizing once more & moving to a tiny home in a lousy area to keep my total expenses down to almost nothing. That's what I do. But my silver & gold...they're not for sale.

I'm sorry to say this, but your comment is out of proportions. BrotherJohn repeats very often that he doesnt provide any financial advice, but merely informs us on his view on investing, while he at the same time gives us insight about news and revelations at the markets. Especially the silver market.
BrotherJohn is my revelator in many ways, despite that I'm not a believer. And I'm so glad to hear that he is out of hospital. I hope for a speedy recovery at his behalf and wont feel comfort before I can hear his voice on another silverupdate again.
I've followed BrotherJohn almost since he started posting videos on Youtube. Not sure about how many hours, days and months that was wasted, looking for someone with common sense to comment on the very varied and complicated issues about the economy before I discovered him. Alltogether, years!
If anyone deserves to hear that he/she is important for people around the world - then its BrotherJohn!

The community he is creating over the internet is appreciated more than you can imagine! :0)
