New 2oz high relief dragon from fiji
On a scale of 1-100, watcha think? It's a high relief inverse proof 2 oz silver coin with a mintage of 888. That's a real ruby apparently, value unknown.

Do you have any other pictures of it? Back side? Almost doesn't look like a picture of a real coin....or looks like a drawing of one.
If that is what it actually looks like.. I really like it and it has really nice detail.... .

Thanks.
I acutally like this coin. I would really like to see this one in person. It does have amazing detail. If you order one... please be sure to let us know what it looks like and take a picture. Your pictures seem to give a better idea than the ones they post sometimes.. |

RE: New 2oz high relief dragon from fiji
Oh right, I spoke to the sales director at firstcoin. They are in the process of building a retail layer ontop of their current website. So if you aren't a big time dealer, you can still buy from them at retail. It seems like they are doing it piecemeal because some coins you can already buy on the retail site and some you can't. He actually sent me a list of their inventory. Nothing super exciting right now. The prices are.....ok. They're not great, they're not horrible. Basically, a little cheaper than ebay
They are a very new business though and I think they have a lot of potential because they are based in the United States and apparently they offer free shipping on all their sales. So you have to add that in to the costs.

As for where you can get it. The only place I've seen so far that is a 'safe' site is:
http://www.powercoin.it/lang-en/oceania-...-2012.html It's a very expensive coin. If it was about 80 euro cheaper I'd jump on it immediately...They are preselling right now, 9 left. I forget how many they started with. It wasn't 9 Assumptions are the most dangerous things in the universe. |

That is extremely low. Again.. I am dying to hear from someone who has actually purchased and received the coin. There are so many that have looked fine on the picture, but not so nice in person. I have a gut feeling that this one would actually be nicer in person. |

You won't know what it looks like better till it's sold out. I think it's going to be a beautiful coin and at 2 oz you'll be able to appreciate it better than the high relief the perth mint put out. I'm just not sure I'm willing to risk buying one. I'm at the bottom of the barrel on funds right now and if I buy this those funds disappear for like 3 months even if the coin does end up being a success... RE: New 2oz high relief dragon from fiji
I purchased one of those unicorns for the family member that loved it. That was a presale too though that doesn't release till like the 10th of next month. So I can't say for sure. I know some people over at silver stackers, who mostly live in australia, ordered hedgehogs from power coin and they received their coins as promised. Even the ones that pre ordered them at a low price, power coin honored their sale(despite the hedgehog rocketing in value by like $400)
As for delay, can't say.. Assumptions are the most dangerous things in the universe. |

RE: New 2oz high relief dragon from fiji
It's a tossup. The mintage is so small it really depends upon the marketing it gets. There is such a thing as too rare. The coin can fall off the map and no one hears about it so the price doesn't go up. I don't know, I can't decide what to do with this one

I don't know... Geeezzz... the price is high... but mintage is low.. Beautiful coin... Good ratings by the thread posters.. Marketing? Not sure at all about that.
I keep going back to the low mintage... 888... That is the only thing that keeps bringing me back to this coin. The price isn't attactive.. but darn.. the coin is. Either way.. this one will be a learning experience. Better bookmark this one and follow what it does. |

Just don't bite off more than you can chew von. You're new here and I'd hate to lead you in to what you felt like was a big mistake. Make sure you have a stack that makes you feel comfortable..THEN play with coins like this.

I too, just learned of the hedgehog and my mind keeps thinking if that coin is selling for that then skys the limit for this beaut! thanks again for your concern and insight.
