Madness of the Silver Stacker

Madness of the Silver Stacker
Hi folks I'm relativley new to the Physical Silver idea and it only came to my attention through a long conversation in a Bar one evening. A good friend of mine was telling me about the idea of Freeman on the Land and how the numbers on birth certificate is essential a bond that TPTB can trade and we essentially are all debt slaves.
He then proceeded to tell me about the silver story and how I should be buying physical silver. So I decided to take a trip Down the Rabbit Hole and six months later I'm 125oz's deep and still going, I'm trying to raise extra £££s just to buy more whilst in the middle of buying a new property and raising my new born daughter.
Now 125oz's might not seem like alot to some folk here but as a logical thinker I believe in the fundamentals so strongly that I'm throwing all my spare cash at it even though in the UK we pay 20% VAT on silver Bullion + the Merchant fee I've gotta see $45-$50 silver spot to break even on my investment.
This is causing a little bit of tension between me and my dearly beloved you can see the despair every time the Bullski comes through the letter box. But she has faith in me albeit she thinks I'm a tad BONKERS
I explain to her all the fundamentals and how the Banks are all going down (her Dad is a bank manager aswell) and this bullion is our savings for the future etc etc.
But going back to the Title of the thread I'm trying to awaken family and friends only to be told i'm 'Mad' and silver will never go so High in price etc, I buy Pamp oz's as presents in the hope that it will ignite a passion similar to mine, I try pointing them in the direction of Chris Duanes' SilverBulletSilverShield but this can be a bit Doom an Gloom fo some to take and the Denial stage sets in.

My efforts haven't all been in vain as I do have a couple of friends who have seen the light so to speak. Why is it that it's the people who think outside the box who are the more likely to accept that this isn't' Madness' but a fantastic opportunity.

Now i'm sure that other folks are trying to do the same and come up against stiff opposition, this can be frustrating so I'd like people to vent their frustrations here and also if they have any advice on what avenues to take in awakening people to this great opportunity to prepare yourself for the future then I'd like to hear them.

Kind Regards

MattJ

RE: Madness of the Silver Stacker
i have talked to most of my friends about it, some are somewhat interested some not, but recently i got 2 of my buddies to buy some of the 20for20 silver polar bears with me, so hopefully they will look further into it now, but its tough, people are not taught about money, unless their parents teach them, but its rare in the western culture to be exposed to the value of pm's i think..

I agree its nice if you can buy a 20 tube at a slighty lower price by sharing with a good friend.. Yea I cant believe how unaware I was and other people are to the whole situation I'm very grateful ofthe work Brotherjohnf, SGT, Chris Duane do in educating people.

RE: Madness of the Silver Stacker
i have been a coin collector all my life as a hobby, i had them all stolen as the result of not locking a back door about 6 years ago so i stopped! then about 6 months ago i got back into it by making my first mistake... 20 BU morgan dollars and one peace dollar from a hell of a salesman on TV! so i overpaid for some collector coins that i now own but it got me started again! then i overpaid for some pandas and such (same guy, barry is good!)
but now i've found gainesvillecoins.com (as a link on this site) and are buying mostly eagles with an occasional moose, kola, panda etc etc (still cant shake the collector thing but they are pretty) i am trying to keep it mostly eagles now! 110 ounces and am stacking with every dollar i can scrape up!
i would ask brotherjohn one thing... in your silver updates it sounds as if your trading in the futures market? that is something i've done before so your reasoning sounds familliar as to when to buy (go long) sell (short) etc? but i'm not trading in a futures market now, i'm buying physical silver and having it stored in the vault @ gainsevillecoins.com (saves shipping and handling thats a 1/2 ounce coin and i'm only 4 hours away!) so i buy when i have currency.... and feel the need! so i buy at 32, 34, 31, 30, 29, 35 no matter what the spot price is i'm buying when i have the funds!??? until i reach my goal of 1000 ounces i'm just gonna buy as long as they will trade my paper with the faces of old dead white men on them for silver!!! of course as soon as i buy it goes down but thats ok i just buy some more???!!!
thanx for all you do!!!

Sorry to hear you got Burgled. I Know what you mean when it comes to the Numismatics as I've had a little dabble but now i Just buy recognisable good value coins like Eagles , also Britannias as they are exempt from capital gains tax in the UK.

that 20% vat tax is criminal, there must be a way around it?

The best way I have found to beat the 20% VAT rate in the UK is to order my silver from Germany and have it delivered to a german vault. You pay 7% tax on this and then if you organise a courier service to the UK you do not have to pay any additional tax.

Of course this is only cost effective if you order large enough quantities, I recently purchased 300 eagles from coininvestdirect.com at around £24 a peice (that is including the VAT!), if you factor in the courier cost of £200 (insured) it adds around 66 pence to the cost of each coin which is MUCH better than the prices offered at various UK bullion dealers.

All in all I probably saved around £1000 on a £7000 order, not bad!

Cheers,
Kris

Yea I know I'm not barking'. The problem is any video I show people that conveys the fundamentals so elequently usually conflicts with the way of life they've become so accustomed to which leads to folk scoffing at the information. Im confident in my own decisions but it's coming to a point where I'm starting to think "What's the point in trying" and I'm sure some people can relate to this dilemma hence the thread. Thanks for the reply.

Kind Regards

RE: Madness of the Silver Stacker
re the thread original topic, all you can do is to offer friends and family the information in order they can understand and decide for themselves.

Ive had some mixed results but in the end its about 1 in 10 of my contacts that take it serious and about 1 out of those 10 that will do something about it.

Most start with the usual silver isnt money then want to change the subject in under 5 minutes when you try to make your point. but they still wont want to know anything more and even if they do its highly unlikely they will make any purchases unless pushed and this is what can happen when someone's pushed into it.

I have a friend who bought some silver with me after getting the initial part about fiat currency etc. However he immediately contacted me the very next dip asking if id buy him out as he couldnt take the violent moves and felt safer in a high interest bank. Of course I obliged & hes never stopped kicking himself but everytime I offer to sell it back at current spot he balks. He will never stack until it is much much higher, then like the herd he'll pile in whilst ill probably be making plans for getting out.

Also there's the stigma attached to it and societies disapproval of anything outside the mainstream, they are good at controlling the masses and people want to be part of the bigger collective and most cannot stand to be attacked about their beliefs so follow like a good little sheep even to the slaughter house.

I know the % of the population stacking silver or gold for that matter is minute, there's a reason for that and i put it down to great generational brainwashing and herd mentality. I gave up a long time ago trying to convince people I knew for the simple reason being I am not going to become known as "that guy stacking PM's" you tube and where you can protect your ID fine but the more that you talk to friends the more likely others will become aware you wouldn't wish to know. Stick to close family and the closest of friends. If you wish to inform more then do so it on a mass media network under a protected alias. You can say hey np I got iron to sort that but honestly why even make a potential problem ?

Ive found the best way is posting links & vid links on forums or emailing them from a throw away account with the smallest amount of explanation. If they get it they will pick it up and run with it, if not you at least have tried to spread the word.

You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink Wink

Voluntarily bashes gold or silver BS when seen or heard .... for free

Excellent Post.

So much of what you've described is exactly what I encounter. Believe me I dont't tell every Tom, Dick N Harry and I've started to realise its not for everyone.
Its the awakening that spurs you to want to tell others I've never come across anything that has motivated me so much as to pro-actively make people close to me question everything they've come accustomed to.

To be honest I mainly keep it to myself these days as emailing sister and brothers links to youtube videos seems to appear a futile attempt at making people think the same as I do.

Horse to water sums it up quite nicely

Thanks Victor
