Looking for sources for 90% Junk silver
Looking for good on line merchants that sell 90% junk silver coins
I have purchased from SD bullion and local coin dealers but I want to get set up with several on line dealers for backup and so I am ready to go when it's go time. 1) I would only be interested in dealers that don't charge sales tax. I think that leaves Gainsville coin out. I am in NC, so that leaves out NC dealers. 2) $100 face bags are what I prefer. I don't really deal in bars or rounds. 3) Spot plus price must be reasonable. Some dealers are asking crazy spot plus prices. SD Bullion was .10 over a couple weeks ago, now they are .29 over on $100 nface Anyone have some dealer names for me? Thanks in advance How's the stack hanging? |

Quote:I have noticed that everyone is going up on junk silver, that is what I buy as well! Even my local guys! yeah, me too, My local guy charges spot + 0, which is great, but he has to charge sales tax, which is 7% I did find that Gainsville coin does not charge sales tax to out of staters and their prices are great. It's always something though. The minimum purchase for a wire transfer is $2200. That's not a problem when talking $100 face bag Credit card purchases are +3%, which is the norm and understandable. RE: Looking for sources for 90% Junk silver
Okay...help me understand something. I find a hole-in-the-ground gold and silver place the other day. I say how much for that bag of 90% coins. They gave a number. I said, "At what point are you charging me tax?" She emphatically said, "By law, I cannot charge you tax on money. Don't let anyone tell you differently!" Now I am reading this thread and becoming very confused.

RE: Looking for sources for 90% Junk silver
My favorite is APMEX. Not necessarily always the cheapest, but first class with customer service and speed. I also like Bullion Direct, although I rarely purchase there anymore b/c of their "handling fee." Provident has great prices, but I waited nearly three weeks for an order. I had no issues with Gainesville, who also has great prices, although they were also a little slow on shipping. I placed an order with APMEX the day after I placed a Gainesville order, and the APMEX order arrived nearly a week before Gainesville.
Some folks don't care about waiting, but I do. If I had been stacking for several years, and if I were well set with food, water, supplies, guns & ammo, I wouldn't care, either. I am intently observing what is going on around me in the country and the world, and I don't see it getting any better so I'm in a mad rush to catch up on what I should have been doing since late 2007 or earlier. Maybe nothing will happen in our lifetimes, but if it does... |

RE: Looking for sources for 90% Junk silver
Apmex is usually more expensive but their shipping speed is wonderful. Recently their prices have been getting more and more competitive with the likes of provident and gainesville. Accepts payment by check. Wide range of products but their semi to full numismatic stuff is usually way overpriced.
Gainesvillecoins-Usually the cheapest price. Their shipping is slower(usually 2-7 days slower) and they don't accept checks. Just credit or bank wire(2000 minimum). Thing is, their prices are usually so good it's cheaper to buy on credit at gainesville then it is by check at apmex, lol. Like I said though, apmex has been getting cheaper recently. We'll see if it keeps up. Sales tax if in florida. Great selection of semi to full numismatic stuff. Provident-Usually tries to match gainesvillecoins on the higher quantity volumes and is usually more expensive on the lower quantity volumes. Usually the cheapest on the maple/eagle/bar specials via a discount code. Accepts payment by check. Sales tax in texas on purchases under $1,000. Smaller selection of products in general and runs out of stock more quickly on specials. But does offer more supply type items(gloves scales) and even survivalist gear(rations, med kits, etc). Assumptions are the most dangerous things in the universe. |

RE: Looking for sources for 90% Junk silver
I hear new players are looking to break into the online market for 90%.
http://constitutionalsilver.com/ The LCS'....(that are hedged) are usually the best place to pick up 90% coinage. Melt value...straight up. No premium. Become your own bank..."Stash n Stockpile Weapons of Stack Construction!" |

RE: Looking for sources for 90% Junk silver
Thanks for the info all.
Doing a google search returns many sources but getting the extra bits of info from others is more valuable. I emailed one place asking about $100 face bags because all they listed on their site was $1, $500 and $1000 bags. They emailed back saying to put 100 of the $1 face in the cart. LOL. Yeah right, $100 face at the $1 premium rates, makes perfect sense... Quote:Gainesvillecoins-Usually the cheapest price. All I can see is that they want you to send them money and they will supposedly hold some silver for you? How's the stack hanging? |

What questions did you ask EL34? As a new investor, I always like to know how to get the edge and understand how to gain some sort of leverage. Thanks!

Yep...I think so....or at least some sort of joint venture with another guy....and they're setting up a vault storage in Utah I think it was. Seems a little high priced for 90% (premium wise), but I really haven't looked into it at depth. Tulving sells 90% at spot prices....from what I remember, he usually has the best price...unless you can find an LCS to match or get it below spot. |
