Information Koala 2012
What's the bear emblem mean above the Koala's back?

Haven't seen that before.

I've also seen some pictures without the 'P' too. Is there any significance to it not being there?

RE: Koala 2012
It's a Berlin Bear privy. A lot of different coins use a privy mark - usually to celebrate an anniversary of an importance date or event ect., the maple leaf seems to do it a lot for coins ( http://www.silverbullionworld.com/mapleprivy.html ). According to Apmex, it's the first Koala with a privy mark and there are only 50,000 made.

The 'P' is the mint mark from Perth. I don't know of any Koalas that don't have that, could be wrong on that though.

I saw the P missing on a coin on ebay. Didn't know if it was a legit coin or not.

As for the privy bear one it does have a P. Didn't realise the bear was Smile

Looks like the 2011 was the first. The 2012 must be the second with it.
