I thought I had found the deal of the century...
Because I have too much time on my hands today, I was entertaining myself by browsing the high cost of coins on Amazon.com. I ran across Mercury dimes for $1.16 each! Quickly I calculated what it would cost per ounce. Wow!!!! An ounce of silver for $16.24! I put 14 dimes in my shopping cart just to make sure there wasn't a mistake, planning to clean them out if it wasn't. No mistake...the total cost for 14 coins was $16.24. Sadly, however, I was done in by shipping & handling:

Order Summary
Items (14): $16.10
Shipping & Handling: $69.86
Total Before Tax: $85.96

Darn!

Where do you live, where Shipping and Handling on 14 dimes, would be 70 dollars?

**edit** I think i found the deal you were talking about http://www.amazon.com/One-Silver-Mercury...170&sr=8-1

I would contact the seller, and ask if they will ship in one container for a flat rate. All Amazon is doing is 4.99 per item * the number you select = shipping charges. Email the seller and ask if they will work a deal for you.

They can do this and charge what ever they wish for shipping. It's done on ebay alot to. The seller puts a very undervalued "buy it now" price and if you don't look at the shipping charges you get creamed, I almost fell for the exact same thing.

That's where they are making their money. No way they are going to sell silver for less than half of spot. I wish! Smile

Kynyts... It would be interesting to see if they will ship them all together.. If they won't. There's your answer. If you do ask them.. let us know what they say..

What a bunch of jerks.. Didn't crunch the numbers, but that is around $80.00 per ounce!! OUCH!!

thats how i sell on ebay, i dont do this to decieve buyers. with the outrageous fees between ebay and paypal sellers have to beef up their shipping fees to offset everything.
