Just spoke to a Ukrainian girl a month ago and she said that the country really suffered in 2008 downturn as well, with her family loosing quite a bit and they were well off. Ukrainians are more conditioned to a hard life then most westerners are.

I agree we should be preparing and live like it will happen. I do hope we have more time but I truly wonder. We need to get the idea we are going to live harder lives in the near future.
