Grant Aims To Boost Use Of Food Stamps At Farmers Markets
LINK TO ARTICLE

I have some problems with this.

1. One more taxpayer funded entitlement program by a broke government.

2.
Quote:Some cities have taken the matter of improving food environments for low-income residents into their own hands. In 2006, Cleveland city council member Joe Cimperman discovered that only half of his city’s farmers markets accepted food stamps, a practice that he described as “very sinful.”

He and his colleagues passed legislation mandating that any markets that use public land, including sidewalks and streets, accept EBT payments.

“Today, every single farmers market in the city of Cleveland does,” Cimperman said.
Private individuals selling produce at farmers markets will end up being regulated by federal and state governments and they will be required to accept EBT payments as in the case of Cleveland.

3.
Quote:Health experts say a lack of affordable healthy food in low-income communities is directly related to high levels of obesity.
If there was demand for more fresh produce in inner cities then merchants would provide it. These socialists have no understanding of supply and demand and how markets operate.

4. I see this as another move towards Agenda 21. It will lead to even more government control over alternative, natural food sources. As the government gets more involved in the operation of farmer's markets more and more regulations will either ultimately shut them down or require the use of more pesticides, irradiation, etc.

It's possible that in a collapse these socialist bureaucrats will be flat broke, lose control and things will turn around and markets will move away from being centrally controlled to become more local and free. I can only hope that post-collapse our country will be able to move in that direction.

Ag, you have touch on a subject that I have studied and know that the ruling elite have put in place a plan to take complete control of all food resource's! Starting with the genetically modified organism such as hybrid patented seeds and herbicides.

Seeds have changed in its genetics over the past years. Hybrid seed has been developed. They say hybrid seed gives better yields and have less disease but the seed will not regenerate unless you have the parent lines. The big seed corporations own the patent on these parent lines and you cannot get the seed unless you go though them. So it does not do any good to save seed from a vegetable to dry and replant it the next season because it will not reproduce long term, new seed has to be ordered! This has become a lock and key for the seed corporations to manipulate the seed industry and really the entire food supply! Also the seed companies have developed chemicals for fertilizers and repellents that work best with the hybrid seed and other chemicals have little or no effect on them! This way they control two markets of manipulation. After this type of seed was perfected the small seed companies could not compete and were forced out of business or bought up by the larger seed corporations. Today there are only 4 or 5 seed companies that control this entire industry and they are owned by chemical and pharmaceutical corporations! Since this has happened the roll of the common plant breeder working for the interest of the public is pretty much non existence!

One of the biggest of these corporations is Monsanto, this cooperation and the other has ties directly with the World Bank In the video below you will see the El its involvement in securing and controlling the food supply of the world! You will hear interview directly from them. Ask yourself why they want this control and why they have gone to such extent as to put them self into this position of power? What is the easiest way to control a society but though there food supply? Is it possible that the FDA that by the way is condoled by the elites could abolish all non hybrid seed saying its is unsafe and could contaminate other seed with disease and make it illegal to have or buy? Think about it if you were against the new world order and resisted how long could you hold out with out being able to replenish your food supply?

Go figure you cant see this video any longer!!!!!! HUUUM I wonder why?????

There is much more but I don't know how many are interested in this?

Yes. This is a huge concern.. If you control the food, you control the world.. Thanks so much for this article. It is very disturbing to say the least.

The link to the video sadly didn't work for me either.

GREAT! Max was in true form at the end!

Okay.. so this is sort of worth mentioning at this point. My brother-in-law came over at Christmas. He works for K-mart and they were getting ready for the garden section for spring (2012) and his "seed packet" supply guy said that the previous year seed packets all had to go.. and so he just gave them all to my "BIL = Brother-in-Law". So.. my BIL has 10 acres of prime farmland.. so he kept some.. but brought over a case of seed packets. Most of which said "heirloom, organic" on the package. He said that if you want them.. take them. Well.. that was the best Christmas present ever! He had EVERYTHING in there down to herbs. I was in heaven but tried to contain my excitement and said that if he doesn't want to take them home, I would be happy to take them. Nobody else in the family wanted them! I have them stored in the basement.. but how long will they last? Anyone?

Is there something that I should do with them? They are in a cool, dark place...?

Thoughts?

Put them in a pvc pipe glued end caps on each end and burry them below frost line. The pvc keeps them dry and buried below frost line keeps them at a consistant 55% that is perfect for seed storage, they will last for 20 or more years this way! It is best to put them in a vacume pac bag before you put them in the pvc because of moisture or air traped in the pipe!

This is the best place I have found to buy seed and they are already in a vacume packed bag that is water proof.

I believe heirloom seed will be worth more than gold and silver some day! You cant beat the price 3 seed banks for $99.00 This could make you rich some day!!!!
