RE: Facebook IPO - Discuss it here
i do not have a Fb account due to privacy issues, also i think if people understood how FB exploits your privacy for profit they would probably run scared. not that google is much better cause i dont trust them either...

i just did a google search for facebook and a random name i just though of. well i can see their pictures their interest sport, tv shows, favorite activities and a list of other things important to this person. i am a complete stranger and i can already profile this person, keep in mind i dont even have an account with FB, if i did more data would probably be exposed to me. it is more then enough data to get someone to be your friend and see all the data. lets also not forget that FB shares all its data with the government

So FB has now garnered the worst performing large IPO over the past decade.

Zuckerbergs net worth has dropped by ~7 Billion Dollars since FB IPO'd. He is now also out of the 40 richest people in the world.

I think the FB IPO mess, has shown some important things about investors today. Investors aren't just dumping money into the "hot company". They are looking for something a bit more foundational. FB has a single income stream, which is advertising. That can't/won't last forever.

I would have shorted facebook but apparently I wasn't bearish enough on their prospects. I didn't expect them to go straight down.

For anyone who did have the balls to short it out of the gate, bravo to them!

It seem that most of us thought it would not do well. There must be a lot of people who made big money on this play. I wouldn't be surprised if the banks were not shorting their own IPO! They did know it wasn't really worth that much. Correct me if you think I'm you to lunch. I'm a novice at the stock market.

I agree. The hype around FB, was so much. Everyone got caught in it.
