Top Video, I've never had facebook for the same reasons and I remember when I was home schooling my daughter I banned her from learning text shorthand for exactly the reason Chris outlines.

Thanks! I don't have facebook either. One of my girlfriends it addicted to it and thinks she has over 500 friends. These people don't know her from a hole in the ground... I have 2 or 3 very trusted friends and that is enough for me! Incidentially, the friend that is addicted is NOT one of my closest friends. She can't even talk on the phone as she is so distracted by what is going on with her fB page.

yeah I have tried FB like 5 years ago and deleted it right then. I think it is a very detrimental way to express yourself as an individual. If one reads Carlos Castaneda he will understand what I am talking about.

I closed my real FB account months ago (not that I ever really used it much to begin with). I do have a fake account that allows me to post responses to articles.

fb is fine for people wanting to touch base with family..etc, it is the whole posting everything about yourself to 500 friends (not friends) or publicly that is the issue. It probably has some benefits, but i would rather call my friends on the phone and talk to them personally or email them directly. You seem to have the right idea and it shouldn't be discounted on the basis of other ways it can help you with business or "getting the word out".

I did get burnt pretty bad by Facebook about 4 years ago. That helped.

The fb accout is not deleted it is deactivated for some time and once you log in again with your user name and password it login again thank you.....

When I deleted my account appr 6 months ago there was a diclaimer that said if I tried to logon within 2 weeks it would reactivate but otherwise should be be deleted.

I have never tried logging back so I'm not sure what actually happened.

This post reminded me to check my facebook page. Yeah it's still there. I think i should delete it because i am probably offending someone by not replying or posting. Good video. I think i will put it on my page.

I was given two options when I wanted to delete my account. One was to deactivate and the other was to delete. I chose the delete option.

I just tried to log in and FB says there is no account with the info I provided. That's not to say my info isn't still on one of their servers..... Confused
