Collapse of CCCP
Hey guys, I see most of you getting ready for a big collapse of greenback. So I would like to share what happen when USSR collapsed. I was little at that time, and now my dad, grandfather and father in law told me how it happened. here is my story.
One day every one woke up and on the news they were saying that the money is worthless. You could only exchange small amount per person for the new money. All the people that were saving there money and many really rich people lost every thing that morning. Now before that morning few days earlier. Me and my dad went to flea market since there were no stores and if there were stores they were empty. We try to buy some food and no one would sell it for the money. The only money you could buy food at that time was with dollars. I guess because all at of people had a hunch that the country was in big trouble. My dad was saving his money in dollars, while my grandparents were saving in old rubles. Grandparents lost little what they had, while my dad was able to prosper. After the collapse, people who had guns killed each other. While people who did not have guns stayed in line for food. That was a start of a huge black market. People who had some dollars like my dad was able to buy things and sell to make profits. while others who lost everything became drunks and really unhappy people. Even sold there land for penny's, so that they could feed there family. My dad bought condo, land where he build his vacation home and a car. So i think this is how it might play out here in the states. if you have guns don't wave them, if you have dollars good luck. we do live in very interesting times. |

RE: Collapse of CCCP
Thanks Ivan the story is pretty relevant.
The only thing I would say is that if we indeed face a real collapse the fall of USSR will look like a kindergarden ![]() Another thing to add is that the richest folks in Russia got REALLY rich exactly at that time between 91 and 94. Most of them were much better educated than the masses(thanks to USSR there was a great educational system which is now at its decay). Those guys got rich by buying the privatized vouchers that represented shares in many undertakings across the country. The masses never really understood what they got on their hands and only those few that did were buying dollar for a penny. Indeed not only was it time of a collapse, but also a time of great opportunities for those better educated. |
