Buying silver coins at an auction
Anyone have luck - good or bad - buying at silver coins at a live auction?
Just going through listings of auctions in my area and several have what sound like numerous stirling and pure silver coin sets. I would imaging that any local coin people would be on top of this - but just wondering if there is a chance at these auctions to pick up some underpriced silver? RE: Buying silver coins at an auction
Heck... Never tried. You will get to look at them first if you go early. Then you just have to decide what they are worth. A lot of people there will not have a clue, but some will and you'll just have to set a bid price and don't go over! Sounds like a complete blast! I would love to go.. just to see if I could get a deal on them. Go anyway because there are others hoping to get them for close to nothing! At least you can bid and either walk away with them or make them pay going price..

RE: Buying silver coins at an auction
I will be doing the same thing but not until June 2nd
There is a local auction house that holds auctions 4 times a year I called them about a month ago asking about silver coins They said they had a bunch but I would have to wait until the next auction. Let me know how your auction goes I would be interested in what you find and if the people in attendance actually understand what the coins really are. How's the stack hanging? |
