Budget for the year
What % of your PM funds for the year did you blow though this downturn? I am well over 50% at this point but have enough left to make a few more big stabs before the year is done.

RE: Budget for the year
No, what % of your funds allocated to buy PMs did you blow through on this dip.

Quote:I don't have an allocation or budget I buy as much as I can within a price range that does not affect my day to day life, I call that a budget I guess. Since my income is predictable to an extent I can pin down a real number. I find it hard to believe that anyone could have absolutely no limit on what they can spend. |

RE: Budget for the year
0% spent this time around. Still stacking cash until closer to the election and then want to see some fireworks. If there is an election. Rumor has it Obama may stage an event (assassination attempt) to invoke martial law and postpone another election indefinitely so he has an excuse to bomb Iran which now has a nuclear bomb apparently. This is all playing out with black swans and false flags as predicted.

Quote:I find it hard to believe that anyone could have absolutely no limit on what they can spend Well everyone has a limit, but I am not going to spend any more cash than I need to on silver I could spend 250k or more on silver if I wanted to, but that's not what I am going to do. I don't see that I need 250k worth of silver How's the stack hanging? |

RE: Budget for the year
I know I have X as the absolute most I can spend on PMs because I have a budget. This allows me to know how much I should buy when there is a dip by factoring how much of the year is left, how much $ I have left and how big the dip is. For example this last dip I made 2 huge purchases and I know for an absolute fact that I could have made a 3rd because I know exactly how much I have left to spend.
Why does it seem like I am the only one that does this? Do you guys really just chuck random fiat at PMs? If you don't you have a structure and when it comes to buying something, this is what is called a budget. |

Quote:Do you guys really just chuck random fiat at PMs Personally, speaking about my situation only I don't have a budget because I own a business and make decent money I have been stashing a bunch of that money away for over 15 years I have zero debt (except a small mortgage payment) No kids or wife sucking my bank account dry (college, couches, new cars, etc) Just two dogs and they don't ask for much except lots of belly rubs It frees me up to be able to do pretty much anything I want to do I just buy when I see a good buying opportunity I realize this is sort of a rare situation How's the stack hanging? |

I make X and of this I break off 20% for investing and then of that I allocate 1/3 for PMs. Next year it will be 1/2 as I am buying a house this year. |

RE: Budget for the year
I started quite young..back in '96 or '97 (wow.. was it cheap then!) and haven't added to it frankly until this last year or so. It is definately a mind trip to purchase it now at these prices, but I remember freaking out back then that I had made a mistake and that silver wouldn't get above 8 bucks an ounce or Gold wouldn't see $500 a ounce ever. I basically held on to it because I wasn't really sure where to go and sell it and get what I paid or I would get screwed... There wasn't ebay, online metals sites, or anything.. I am sooooo glad that I held...
