Are you as concerned as i am?

Are you as concerned as i am?
First they pass a law that gives them the right to lock you up without charges or trial for an unlimited amount of time. Then they start to build these FEMA camps to provide a place to house a large amount of people. That have high barbed wire top fences to keep you there. Then the president commands the authority to take over control of all the countries resources. Now the Dept of Immigration and Homeland security combined order 450 million man shredder 40 caliber rounds. If they needed any ammo for target practice or drills they could have purchased a lot more cost effective rounds than these tissue destroyers. Maybe i am a conspiracy nut? Maybe all these things have no correlation? However i am getting more than a little concerned. Are all these things together raising any flags with you?

Also, Barbara Boxer's Highway Safety Bill (SB 1813) recently passed now it's going to the House. Hopefully, it will not pass there. It has a provision that would allow the government to revoke American citizen's passports for unpaid taxes. I don't know about you but I had an issue with the IRS in the past where they couldn't seem to locate our electronic tax filing. I took a month or more to clear that up. So, anyone they want to keep in the country they have another means of doing so.

IMO, they know a collapse is coming and they are preparing for it. At the very least, they expect rioting. I believe capital controls and travel restrictions will tighten over the next few years. Perhaps sooner.

RE: Are you as concerned as i am?
Yes, I am concerned as well. Because I am a backwards sort of person, I started stacking before I started stocking up on things that would actually sustain a person's life. I have been very torn about stocking things when I'm facing an inter-state move in the next few months. I can't even recall what it was that triggered me to shift my focus, but something scared me badly enough that I switched gears completely. It is amazing what one can accomplish in a short period of time when they are motivated enough. Smile I'll just have to move it all along with the furniture.

I have no idea what is coming, but all signs point to it being something big.

Oh...and for you guys who use the Gillette Atra razors and have been having trouble finding refills for them, or curse under your breath at the price of them, I found ten-pack refills of the cartridges for $10.99 and ordered a BUNCH of them! They are phasing them out up here and the last place I found them was at Walgreen's for almost $17.00!

There are plenty of other ways they can keep you in.

I have to start watching the speed limit more carefully. No rolling stops. This is starting to get real.

Hope you don't mind me asking but just curious what state you're moving to and what state from? I know you said in a different thread that your youngest is in a boarding school.

RE: Are you as concerned as i am?
Nancy Pelosi and those of her ilk should all be locked up in an insane asylum! Not making rules to govern sane people!

I don't trust anything the government does or says. Whatever they say, I believe the opposite is the truth. So yes, the FEMA camp thing which I haven't heard about and the shredding ammo thing really concern me.

It sure doesn't look good!

New York City or New York state? If you're in New York City...I can't imagine living there. I think the traffic in my little town and neighboring towns is bad. LOL

Why Kentucky?

Upstate, New York. I lived in the City for about a year and very quickly discovered that Wall Street was NOT for me. I've never been paid so much in my life to do so little! That kind of life is not for me. I got out as quickly as I could & upstate was a compromise of sorts. I'm from Kentucky and I have a lot of family there. Besides, if the S ever does HTF, they'd never find us in those hills...haha.

There's really no place to hide where I am unless one just walks away from everything...the thought has occured to me. However, I don't know if the "law" can come after me for abandoning my house and prior payments due since at that point I will stop making payments?

I visited a civil war battlefield in Kentucky 15-17 years ago in Perryville and I think the battle was called two things--the battle of Chaplin Hills or the Perryville battle. We stopped there on our way back from a vacation in Tennessee. My great great grandpa was a Union soldier from Wisconsin and was shot in that battle and survived. So it was really interesting for me to walk thru that battlefield where bullets and cannon fire were flying.....

We stopped at an antique shop a short distance from the park and I bought a Union minnie ball. About a year ago, I bought a bunch of minnie balls, grape shot, and cannon balls from people/farmers off ebay who own land around the park and found them over the years.....it's cool to me. Those pieces of metal were flying in the air when one of my ancestors was fighting there.

RE: Are you as concerned as i am?
I don't think we have debtor's prisons now, except for child support and delinquent taxes...unless they have passed new legislation that I am unaware of (which is entirely possible at the rate this stuff is flying out of Congress without anyone bothering to read it first). A lot of people seem to be walking away from their mortgages, even if they can afford the payments, because so many are so far underwater. The thing is, the can might be kicked down the road for the rest of our lifetimes. I don't see how that is possible, but then again, I don't see how this house of cards has remained standing for as long as it has. If you ever do walk away, be prepared to have wages garnished if you work, not to own anything they can seize and for having really bad credit for many, many years. Of course, if the SHTF, it won't really matter.

I used to think "gotta pay the bills" no matter what, on time, every month, no deviation for any reason. I guess I have become so disillusioned with all the bailouts, the corruption in government, the incestuous relationship between corporations and government that I no longer feel the same moral obligation as I used to. I still pay everything on time because it is very ingrained and on the off-chance that the system will continue. However, if the S does HTF, I wouldn't lose a minutes sleep if that time ever came. Believe me when I say, none of my creditors will have lost a dime with as much as I've paid them over the years...lol.

Perryville is so cool, isn't it? When I was growing up, we used to have our family reunion there every year. It has so much atmosphere. Makes me nostalgic for when I was a kid. Thanks for bringing up those memories Smile

Ah, so the law can come after me...I wasn't just talking about prison. The law can garnish my wages, etc.... I really didn't know this.

The goobermint has really screwed us...first they cause the housing bubble, then cause the thing to crash, then our houses are worth a lot less, then we can't sell because not many people want to buy a house or they don't have the money. So I'm stuck, stuck, stuck....because of the goobermint. Angry

I hope I'm not coming across as woe is me, me, me. I'm upset with the goobermint for what they've done and continue to do to all of us...i.e., screw us and the constitution.

I would like to visit Perryville again sometime...maybe during a re-enactment.

Your creditors can obtain a judgment against you, and if they can locate your bank accounts, they can freeze them and take the money from your accounts. In New York, they can no longer do blanket information subpoenas on all the area banks...they have to have a good faith basis for believing you have an account there first. This may be different in other states. If they can locate your assets, they can seize them to pay the debt (with some exceptions). If you are working, they can garnish up to a certain percentage of your wages.

No, you aren't coming across that way, and I agree with you. I'm pretty angry about the whole situation, too, and it didn't really affect me personally. The bubble seems to have missed this area somehow. Regardless, I am furious over what is and has been happening in this country. It's just wrong. If they ever get around to prosecuting anyone, they'd better hope I'm not on that jury.
