Anyone watching gold?

RE: Anyone watching gold?
That may or may not be true. What I can tell you with absolute certainty is that if any other nation tries to cross our borders with hostile intent our entire population will arm themselves and fight them until every last one of them is dead or they withdraw. 1812 is an example of that.

How can you arm youselves if you don't own firearms to begin with? Will Canadian citizens rely on their leaders who are sold out to globalism to arm you to protect your national sovereignty?

I think if it came down to it there would be a rush of volunteers at the military offices to defend this country.

This is right in the time of the Asian markets and I would expect they are going to crash which will bring in QE3.

Sunday will be very interesting.

Ok, you just totally freaked me out I didnt know about the bilderberg meetings, I might have to go buy more silver Saturday morning. problem is I like to buy it $1,500 at a time to avoid sales tax.

I hope you're right, Mr. Akamkk. One the one hand I could see that when the hammer falls on the western cabal they will be too broke to pursue their high-tech police state agenda, so we may gain back some of our freedoms. America could break up into smaller sections, states rights may strengthen; either way federalized power would diminish. But on the other hand, there have always been terrible forms of low-tech, brute force totalitarianism that descends on nations in times of upheaval. In troublous times scapegoats are chosen to unify the population behind despots. I'm not sure which road we're headed on.

I agree completely with this. There is no way to tell what path will emerge. i can see each scenario happening..

We can agree to disagree on that one.

Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

I am going to have to agree with Ags on this one. The shear fact that so many americans own firearms is a defense against tyranny. I know very few people who don't own a gun or have at least held one. My daughter is 11 and a darn good shot with a 22. Several of my friends own several guns (all legally). They are the most upstanding people I know. My best friend's husband is a youth instructor and teaches competition skeet shooting for the local 4H club. These kids are wonderful and very respectful to everyone.

Learning to shoot teaches so many other things... It teaches self control for one thing. You have to learn to stay calm and concentrate or you will not hit your target. You have to let go of outside distractions. To shoot good is very humbling as these things are not easy to do. It also instills respect for the firearm and self-respect for the shooter.

Most importantly.. our founding fathers understood quite well the importance of a well armed populace as a deterrent against oppression from outside or within. If there is an economic collapse which would result in civil unrest and riots.. I am not going to trust for a second that I can call the police if there is an issue and they are going to show up and rescue me. There just isn't enough of them and they will have "bigger" issues to deal with. My family would be a sitting duck in such a scenario without self protection. If you come to my house to harm, pilage, rape or plunder, you will have a fight on your hands. Without self protection, my family doesn't stand a chance. I would rather have a chance than not. period. Waiting even 1/2 hour for the "cops" to show up is not an option.

RE: Anyone watching gold?
A very valuable and respected point of view. Flip the coin on the other side. If it were my house here in Canada, chances are the intruders would not be armed, which in itself is a deterrent because there is a large population here that have very large and very obedient dogs which is also a deterrent if in fact someone was coming to rape, plunder and pillage. We would also tend to help those people in need as we have a strong sense of community, and lots of bacon. Big Grin

I am not in any way suggesting gun owners in the US are irresponsible or deviant people, nor am I questioning their moral or family values. I am simply stating that in Canada, generally speaking, there really is no need for us to pick up arms to defend ourselves against our Government, and we are not really to worried about an invasion by another nation.

We are Peacekeepers. Remember?

RE: Anyone watching gold?
I envy your trust in your community. I am apparenlty more skeptical. I don't have the statistics for Canada, but here in the US, a good 60% of the populace received some form of Gov. handout in the form of welfare, food stamps, etc. In a collapse situation, they will not continue to receive free food, etc. and these are the type of people that you would not classify as "preppers" for the most part. They will have nothing and they aren't going to sit on their couch and passively allow their families to starve. They will be proactive.

Criminals will have guns. period... here in the US and in Canada. I just prefer to even the playing field and it is legal for me to do so. It would be careless of me not to in my opinion. I just can't leave it up to a hope and a prayer that my community will be there at that exact moment when my family may need them. also...what if it happens in the middle of the night? How will the "community" know that my house is being robbed at that moment? They maybe helpful "after" the situation (if we are still alive) but they can't possibly be there prior in every situation. That is putting a lot of trust in a lot of "ifs". I prefer to know that I am not going down without a fight.

now everyone is talking about goldWink. I am 75% gold and 25% silver Smile gold is much more stable and is money. While silver is money, it's more of an industrial metal.

RE: Anyone watching gold?
Funny.. I am about 30% gold, 70% silver...

Gold is great don't get me wrong, but I also have no concerns at all that Silver is and will continue to be a currency of exchange. You are right. Silver is money AND it is industrial. It is also smaller denominations so I can purchase smaller items I may need without the major hassle of getting "change" back..

I definately don't want to try and buy loaf of bread with a one ounce Gold coin. What a hassle that would be! Even a 1/10th ounce gold coin for that matter.

There is no such thing as a'' western cabal'' The cabal is the central banking system, and it is world wide it also originated in Europe! And the cabal are the ones that are collapsing the world economies! They are engineering this collapse so that they can tell us capitalism didn't work and that we need to install a new global government that they control because there smarter than us and know what we need! This will be followed by a new global currency. They want us to be little worker bees gathering honey for there globalized collective hive! We haven't been free since 1791 when they set up a central bank in the USA called the First Bank of the United States. This was established with a 20 year charter and gets renewed by a congress that is bought and paid for. Your freedoms are an illusion that the central banks have created for you!

RE: Anyone watching gold?
I agree with most of your analysis, I do believe there is a Western Cabal or division of the elite if you prefer and they are at the Bildeberg meetings in Washington with their "masters" this weekend until June 3rd. The webbot is calling for an event to start Sunday night after the meetings wrap up which will lead to and possibly trigger other events world wide and points at the truth coming out about the Vatican documents leaked by the butler. Needless to say being a practicing Catholic and having raised two children through the church this is disturbing to me, although I do ant to know the truth.

Sunday night 9:18 Pacific is when it supposedly will start. I guess we will find out if the webbot is accurate and credible or not.

I believe that Elite have there agents in all facets of religious , secular, political, cooperate groups. I believe there is no organization safe from there influence. When a small group of people control over half the worlds wealth that they have stolen though the central banking and monetary policy that they control. No one or nothing is safe from there reach!

RE: Anyone watching gold?
people that complain about gold premiums must not know how to do math... a 1/10 oz gold coin is worth $160. They have about a $20 premium. how many silver coins are worth $160? 5 silver coins. so that would come out to about $4 premium for each silver coin which is pretty realistic.

RE: Anyone watching gold?
This thread is seriously all over the place. I had to do some research on the cabal and webbots. Then there is the comments about gun and safety in Canada and the US, not to mention gold ratios and premiums. One thing I'm sure of is that I'm not into a one world currency - that is just bad news for everyone. I live in Canada and believe strongly in owning guns and protecting my family. If there is a crash, Canada will be in just as much anarchy as the US. My one question is when people do gold ratio's are you guys taking oz or dollars?

Me too... Sorry..Confused....

Speaking of the silver/gold ratio.. Does anyone know if the ratio has ever been this high? Isn't it around 57/1 now?

I would be keen on buying more gold, but kinda hard to when I have this ratio staring me in the face. The ratio historically is something like 15/1.. Either Gold is extremely overvalued (which I don't believe) or Silver is extremely undervalued (which I tend to believe). Silver just seems like the better buy with these ratios.

Thanks Parkster!! I'll take a gander at it now.. but on first glance, looks like the highest in the last 20 years has been 100/1.

Excellent website Parkster locked it into my favourtites. Man I wish I had the foresight to have bought gold in the 1980's.
