RE: Anyone else use a juicer?
I have a bunch of kale on my desk now and it doesn't look like that, it's curlier and not as bluish-green. If I can't find it this year I will buy seeds for next year. Thanks, again!

RE: Anyone else use a juicer?
our dogs absolutely love it. They go nuts every time they even hear something remotely similar to the sound of kale.

RE: Anyone else use a juicer?
They're a little picky. They love kale and carrots. Apples they like ok. They don't touch spinach or celery or most types of lettuce.
It has to be fresh though! If it's old, wilted or just a bad quality batch, they just sniff it and leave or play with it(aka rip it up and spread it all over the kitchen) but don't eat it. Assumptions are the most dangerous things in the universe. |

RE: Anyone else use a juicer?
Too funny! I had one cat who LOVED cantelope and another one a long time ago who had such an insatiable craving for Nacho Cheese Doritos that he would bat them right out of my hand.

RE: Anyone else use a juicer?
Check out the the following:
Magic Bullet, a low cost combo juicer that does the job. Acme Supreme, a middle cost juicer that gives you juice sans pulp. VitaMix, a high end juicer very powerful, strong enough to pulverize an avocado pit. I met a guy who has been living off a juice program for over six years. He is kind of special though. He was legally blind and followed a book on how to see without glasses by doing eye exercises and now has almost perfect vision. |

iouhc19, thanks for the recommendations.
I've heard about people drastically improving their eyesight by doing eye exercises. It seems like there is something to it. And welcome to the forum. Be sure to register for the silver Sweepstakes if you have a US address.

BRJF: Juicing tips from a PRO!
I am so glad to see you are juicing BrotherJ! and i am amazed how fast you turned to this natural treatment. I have been juicing every day for the past 3 years. My tips:
1. You must use a slow juicer like Hurom, omega or Norwalk. The others oxidizes the juice to much. This Investment will pay it self back 1000 fold. 2. Greens like Kale and spinach are your best friends (Carrot is good to). They contains the most nutrients. 3. For a better taste, strain the juice through a nut-milk bag. You will be able to drink more juice this way! 4. Lemons make green juice taste better. 5. Only drink freshly made juice. Don't store it! If you have to go away for a while, bring the juice in a thermos, and dont let any air in. 6. Dont worry about protein, mothers milk contains about 6%. 7. Research the amino acid "L-arganine"! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8. Juice some beets, only small amounts in the beggining! I kid you not! For exercise: Yoga in a group, and walk/Run in Nature. Contact me if you need more help. //Magnus from sweden |

RE: BRJF: Juicing tips from a PRO!
Thanks for your input, but was it really necessary to make a second thread about juicing when there is a perfectly good and popular one here(found directly beneath this thread): ?

RE: Anyone else use a juicer?
I got a sweet Breville for xmas after watching Fat Sick & Nearly Dead. I wish I used it more, but I have 2 little ones & the only time I get to use it is when they nap. This machine is loud, so I rather they sleep & give me a rest then juice. It's a trade off. I've been lazy & just buying the huge green machine juices at BJ's or Trader Joe's for now.

RE: Anyone else use a juicer?
Just interesting little tidbits I picked up from watching movies and only noticed now that I juice:
Batman(from the recent movies) juices. Some green variant that alfred serves him. Ironman(yes, from the recent flicks) also drinks the same juice. Assumptions are the most dangerous things in the universe. |

Juicers have sure come a long way! I had one years ago and it was a piece of junk and it would take a good hour to get enough juice to even drink anything. Very impressed with how well they work now!

Really? None of you find it awesome that ironman and batman both juice?? I thought that was super interesting that filmmakers would include that in to our modern day superhero movies.
