Does anyone know why the 2008 Australian Kookaburra - 1 oz Silver Coin is so expensive..It's not the lowest of the mintages of all the kooks but acts like it. I've been trying to collect all of the years but I can't get myself to pay 134.99 dollars.

By many people it is considered to be the most beautiful of all the kookaburra coins. You're paying for insane demand that is unlikely to abate. As for 134.99...I hope you don't mean a 1 oz ungraded coin because paying that much is INSANE. You could get one off ebay right now for 65-75.

This one is located in tiawan. The user has 22 feedback, a little low, but it's 100% and low numbers only means they're new, not unreliable. I only have 14 feedback on ebay and I certainly wouldn't rob anyone! Shipping is high on this coin but add it to the low buyout price and it's the best priced BIN(buy it now).

Only thing I'd do before buying it is ask the seller if it is BU, no marks, etc.

2008 is the greatest looking Kook. FWIW I think the 2012 is a close 2nd.

I once saw a picture that Mojo had of a 2008 Kook it was love at first sight. It is a great looking coin.

WHAT?!?! They are going for that much $$$?!?! I bought loads of them and the 2009's for between $21 and $26 a couple of years ago. Wow!
