I received an email today from a writer with the Associated Press looking to speak to people who have some knowledge/opinion about the issue of veterans who may be barred from owning guns due to having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The young lady I spoke with is doing a story that will be released next week and would love to hear from veterans on what their views are. I have put in my two cents worth on behalf of veterans saying that mental health is between the patient and his doctor and that Obama and Cuomo should take their own advice and not put government between them. I also told Ms. Dobnik that laws such as this seek to rob those who have invested the most, by actually serving their country and upholding their oath of office to support and defend the Constitution, is nothing short of treasonous, unconstitutional and frankly morally disgusting. Her contact information is listed at the end of the article.
Constitutional Attorney Michael Connelly, J.D. writes about letters going out from the Federal government.. Connelly writes:
How would you feel if you received a letter from the U.S. Government informing you that because of a physical or mental condition that the government says you have it is proposing to rule that you are incompetent to handle your own financial affairs? Suppose that letter also stated that the government is going to appoint a stranger to handle your affairs for you at your expense? That would certainly be scary enough but it gets worse.
