We have a little problem here.
Out in LA there’s this ex-cop. He was allegedly fired for blowing the whistle on another cop who used excessive force. And now, he’s decided to take action himself, and has declared war (literally) on the LAPD.
“I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty,” Dorner allegedly wrote in a lengthy letter promising retribution against the department, where he worked from 2005 until 2008. An LAPD source provided the document to CNN.
Ok, so far we have a cop who has decided that the law doesn’t work and therefore he’s not going to put up with it. That’s a (big) problem.
I’ll assume for now that the alleged perp is utterly insane and has no reason for what he’s doing, other than deciding in a mentally-ill state that he wants to kill people. I’m taking this position only for the purpose of debate, as it is the most-favorable toward the LAPD and other agencies involved. If I’m wrong in that assumption then everything I write below is far worse.
Now let’s look at what has happened as a consequence:
Two women who were shot by Los Angeles police in Torrance early Thursday during a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer were delivering newspapers, sources said.
The women, shot in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue, were taken to area hospitals, Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase said. They were not identified. One was shot in the hand and the other in the back, according to Jesse Escochea, who captured video of the victims being treated.
It was not immediately known what newspapers the women were delivering. After the shooting, the blue pickup was riddled with bullet holes and what appeared to be newspapers lay in the street alongside.
Now the cops are committing attempted murder.
